About

Exit Shakespeare is a new 90 minute play, which developed out of a collaboration of female artists. It premiered Off-Off Broadway as part of the 2009 SITE Festival in Brooklyn. Since its premiere, Exit Shakespeare has continued to grow and develop through a series of workshops into a full play. Utilizing the texts of Shakespeare’s most celebrated women as well as original dialogue, Exit Shakespeare depicts Will in the last moments of his life. He is compelled to re-examine his troubled relationships with his wife and daughters, and it is only through the aid of his female characters that Will can achieve peace and make his final exit. The play is performed with four actors.
